Join us online for RightsCon 2021: Registration now open!

Registration for the 10th edition of RightsCon (June 7-11, 2021), the world’s leading summit on human rights in the digital age, is now open, with early bird tickets (both paid and free) available until March 31, 2021

RightsCon 2021 will take place entirely online, spanning all time zones, with both live and asynchronous content from Monday June 7, 2021 to Friday June 11, 2021.

Over the last decade, RightsCon has been a home for a growing digital rights movement, gathering thousands of human rights defenders, advocates, creatives, policy makers, technologists, journalists, private sector representatives from around the world. Last year, our first online event welcomed nearly 8,000 participants from 158 countries. This year’s program will host hundreds of sessions to reflect on the evolving nature of our work, celebrate what we have achieved, and chart a path forward in a moment where civil society-led spaces are most needed.

Our approach to registration

Since our first event in 2011, inclusion has been the guiding principle of RightsCon, informing our approach to registration no matter where we gathered. In 2019, we offered over 2,000 free tickets at RightsCon Tunis and last year, in a moment of crisis, we waived fees entirely for 7,681 participants.

We recognize many in our community are not in a position to purchase a ticket and that the cost of registration should never be a barrier to participation. This year, when registering for RightsCon, participants can choose between a free or paid ticket. If you also need financial support to effectively engage in RightsCon, read about and apply to our Connectivity Fund below.

As in previous years, paid ticket levels are categorized by sector. Ticket proceeds allow us to support the growing cost of the event, the longevity of RightsCon as a community space, the accessibility of participation through the Connectivity Fund, and our ability to ensure all voices and perspectives have a seat at the table.

If you have questions or are interested in registering a group, please email us at [email protected]. In line with our commitment to facilitating a safe and productive summit environment, registration for RightsCon will close on May 14, 2021.

What’s new and what’s included

When we first announced the dates for the 10th RightsCon summit, we shared our priorities for this year’s summit: a strengthened public program, improvements to platform accessibility, and – importantly, based on your feedback – new and creative spaces for participant connecting and socializing outside of the formal program. Your RightsCon ticket (both paid and free) will get you access to:

Get your ticket

Registration is available through the RightsCon 2021 Platform, which will host the conference.

Access to the platform will launch on June 1, 2021 – a week before the event starts – giving you the opportunity to explore the platform, create a public profile, and build your own personal agenda for the sessions you wish to participate in. In the lead up to the event, we will share updates as the platform opens, along with a detailed guide to help you navigate the event and make the most of your RightsCon 2021 experience.

Apply for the RightsCon Connectivity Fund

Last year, we introduced the RightsCon Connectivity Fund, an initiative intended to provide direct financial support for session organizers, speakers, and participants to effectively connect and engage during the online conference. This year, we’re opening up applications again with an extended timeline and an improved process.

If you’d like to apply for funding, sign into our RightsCon portal and submit an application before the deadline April 2, 2021 at 11:59pm PST.

Stay tuned – there’s so much more to come
