Eve Chaurand

After having grown up in France and Canada, Eve studied French and Anglo-American law in Paris (University of Paris X), then worked as a corporate attorney in France, the UK, and the Baltic States (for Moquet Borde et Associes, now the Paul Hastings Paris Office). She advised the Estonian government on its first IPO (Eesti Telecom) and closed many multi-million equity financing, project financing and M&A deals. Upon arriving in San Francisco in 2000, Eve advised European corporations doing business in the Bay Area and, while Senior Associate in Occidental Law Group, a San Francisco based boutique firm, was outside counsel to many Bay Area tech and web start-ups.

Eve integrated Ask.com in 2005 upon its acquisition by media conglomerate IAC. She supported many different web, mobile and advertising businesses including IAC Advertising Solutions, Ask Sponsored Listings, Dictionary.com, Mindspark and Urbanspoon. She became Ask.com’s General Counsel in February 2011 where she oversaw all aspects of privacy, overhauled policies of Ask.com in 20 countries and lead the certification of Ask.com with the Safe Harbour program. Since October 2014, Eve is General Counsel of Change.org, the world’s biggest platform for social change, where users in more than 100 countries create and manage petitions.

Eve is also Vice President of the French American Chamber of Commerce, advises many start-ups via the Chamber’s Business Booster program and mentors other female executives via the Women Executive Circle.
