Senior Coordinator, Accessibility & Community Support

We are pleased to announce our partnership with Bloggers of Zambia, a trusted civil society organization based in Lusaka, Zambia, focusing on internet law and policy advocacy.
As we approach the 14th edition of RightsCon, in Lusaka, Zambia (May 5-8), our team maintains its strong belief in partnering with aligned local organizations to deliver an open, accessible, and representative program. We’re incredibly excited to work with Bloggers of Zambia, an ideal partner to support us in our mission of bringing a successful RightsCon back to the continent since Tunisia in 2019.
Who are Bloggers of Zambia?
Bloggers of Zambia is a longtime member of the RightsCon community and an independent civil-society organisation, operating in Lusaka, with work centered on four core themes: Digital Rights, Press Freedom, Civic Tech, and Media and Information Literacy.
They advance their work through advocacy, campaigning, research, convening within the region, and offering training to journalists, bloggers, and marginalized groups — both locally and regionally. Through their work, Bloggers of Zambia have established themselves within the international ecosystem, partnering with CIPESA, Deutsche Welle, and Paradigm Initiative.
All of this is guided by one motto: ‘Keeping Online Spaces Open’ #OpenSpaceZm
“As a stakeholder in the digital rights agenda, we are excited about supporting RightsCon 2026 as it will bring Africa’s digitalization issues into the global conversation. We are particularly happy that Zambia is hosting the diverse global community, which is as a critical result of our collective work for an open, safe, secure, resilient and affordable internet for all,”
— Richard Mulonga, Bloggers of Zambia CEO
Our partnership with Bloggers of Zambia for RightsCon 2026
Bloggers of Zambia will play a key role in ensuring a successful RightsCon 2026 due to their deep knowledge of the region and strong connection to local cultures and communities. Their insight will be instrumental in supporting meaningful engagement, building trust, and ensuring effective stakeholder relations, particularly with the Ministry of Technology and Science.
Specifically, Bloggers of Zambia will support Access Now in facilitating the visa process for Zambia by endorsing a joint visa invitation letter for our trusted partners from visa-required countries. Beyond supporting participant access to the summit, this partnership brings Access Now’s work in closer alignment with regional priorities and delivers outcomes that are both locally informed and broadly supported.
What’s next?
While Bloggers of Zambia plays a leading role in supporting RightsCon 2026, our team is also working closely with other local civil society organizations to bring diverse perspectives, tailored expertise, and complementary areas of work. This network in Zambia and the region plays an important role in ensuring that our programmatic, operational, and overall outcomes are aligned with local community goals. We’ll share more in the coming weeks about the partners in this network supporting us in bringing RightsCon to Zambia.
Stay tuned as we launch the eVisa process and invitation letter request form in the coming days. In the meantime, you can visit our website for helpful travel information and visa tips.
