As we continue building the program for RightsCon 2026 (May 5–8, Lusaka, Zambia, and online), we’re here to share that nominations for the Speaker & Facilitator List are now open!

This initiative is designed to provide an extra avenue of participation outside the Call for Proposals and make it easier for session organizers to discover, connect, and elevate their sessions with the expertise and diversity of perspectives from members of our global digital rights community. Nominate yourself before November 27, 2025.

First introduced for RightsCon 2025, the Speaker & Facilitator List received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both participants and session organizers. Many organizers shared, through our annual survey, that the list helped them identify new and diverse experts, build stronger sessions, and include perspectives they might not have otherwise reached. Given this, we’re continuing the initiative for 2026 with the same process and structure.

How it works

If you would like to contribute your skills and expertise to the RightsCon 2026 program, nominate yourself, within the deadline, to join the Speaker & Facilitator List. Once the list is finalized, session organizers will be able to browse it and contact potential speakers or facilitators directly.

Whether you’re new to RightsCon or have been part of our community for years, this is a great way to engage with the summit’s program and bring your perspective into the discussions that are shaping the present and future of digital rights.

Key dates to remember

  • October 27, 2025 – Nominations open
  • November 27, 2025 – Nominations close
  • Mid-January to Mid-February 2026 – Session organizers will have access to the list and start connecting with potential speakers and facilitators

How to apply?

Head over to our proposal portal and fill out the form. Please be as specific as possible on your expertise, and how your perspective and skills can elevate the RightsCon program. Once you’ve signed up, you will receive a confirmation email from us, and in case of a positive match, session organizers will reach out to you directly.

For details on how the process works, you can revisit last year’s blog post or reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions.
